Welcome to
St. Barnabas
Episcopal Church in Borrego Springs. We are an inviting, engaging
community of your friends and neighbors, full-time residents and
seasonal visitors, who gather to worship weekly in a lively yet
traditional way that honors our heritage, our contemporary life, and
our hopes for the future.
The Episcopal Church arose from the traditions of the Church of
England which was a key element of the colonial community prior to
the formation of our United States.
As part of the world-wide
Anglican Communion, we are considered a “bridge church” because we
have synthesized the liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church with the
theologies of the Reformation. We continue to grow in understanding
the revelation of God through the Scriptures of both the Hebrew
faith and the Christian Church, the tradition of our religious
heritage, and our God-given ability to reason.
As
faithful Christians, we strive to live by the message of Christ and
to love one another as generously as Christ loved us. We welcome all
people who are pursuing their own journey of faith and hope to be a
part of each person’s deeper understanding of the love of God.
Please join us in all the ways that we gather each week - in
worship, in fellowship and in service. As you continue to explore
the pages of our web site, we hope you will feel that you have
discovered your spiritual home.
Borrego Springs is a small resort community surrounded by the
Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, which offers visitors an abundance of
activities, recreation, seasonal events, and a pleasant climate most
of the year which is ideal for our outdoor labyrinth, our gift to the
community and beyond.
